April 7 Election

*NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at an election to be held in the several towns, villages, cities, wards, and election districts of the State of Wisconsin, on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, the following question will be submitted to a vote of the people pursuant to law:

Question 1: "Election of chief justice. Shall section 4 (2) of article VII of the constitution be amended to direct that a chief justice of the supreme court shall be elected for a two-year term by a majority of the justices then serving on the court?"

This referendum is a result of 2015 Enrolled Joint Resolution 2, a copy of which can be viewed or downloaded from the Government Accountability Board’s website at http://gab.wi.gov.  A copy also can be obtained from the office of the county clerk, or the Legislative Documents Room at 1 East Main Street, Madison, Wisconsin.
